@Sebastion - Sounds like a "reset to default" button is in order. In the meantime you can download the default embed code template from here: <a href="http://www.brooksandrus.com/resources/thumbgenie_default_embed_template.txt" rel="nofollow">http://www.brooksandrus.com/resources/thumbgenie_default_embed_template.txt</a>.

As far as audio goes, Jing only records from the microphone input (unless you use something like Soundflower on the mac). So if you're on Windows and don't have a built in mic, you'll need to plug a microphone of some sort into your sound card. Once you've got a mic, you don't need to worry about codecs. Jing Free encodes audio using ADPCM. Jing Pro encodes audio using AAC. Playback of both codecs is supported by nearly all media players including Flash Player.

Other question, what audio format do you use, cause I can't hear any audio when I try to play my video, the video is working, but I tried a lot of codec and none are working for the audio

tks

Hmmm, it didn't seem the embed window would take focus over the video window. Not a big deal, I just typed in the two different flavors for now.

Why did you decide to publish Jing videos with Kimili + Flash wrapper instead of a video player that supports playing mp4 directly?

I tried using Kimili without the player.swf wrapper (actually overlayplayer.swf), but only got sound with a blank screen. Not all of my screencasts are done in Jing and it would be nice to use the same blog publishing technique for all of them.

You might want to change the name of ThumbGenie. It is a wonderful tool, but ThumbGenie is also used by another (cough) site. Google ThumbGenie and you'll see why. :-/

@Chris - right click and choose copy / paste in the embed template window. Right now ThumbGenie watches the keyboard shortcuts for copy / paste and thinks you're trying to paste a video from the clipboard into the viewable area. I need to change that so that when the embed code window has focus those shortcuts "just work" as expected for text.

I've actually got a better model in mind for multiple templates (current template implementation was just sort of a stop gap)....sounds like I need to get motivated. ;-)

Great job with Thumb Genie. It definitely makes the workflow process between Wordpress and Jing *much* easier. One suggestion (maybe it's already there?) is allowing copy/paste into the Embed Template window.

That would make using multiple templates much easier. Right now, it looks like everything needs to be typed manually each time. And perhaps an explicit save button for those changes, since closing a window normally discards any changes. It's a bit counter-intuitive that it saves them.

Cheers,
Chris
