Get a Clue People – Poor Leadership Kills

Given the changing political winds here in the States in seems apropros to highlight the importance of leadership in the software development world.

I’m not certain where exactly this leader needs to exist in the responsibility chain. Maybe its an exec as noted above, or perhaps as the jester suggests it’s a bad ass PM.

Or it could fall to the “engineering manager” roll as played by the elusively cool Michael “Rands” Lopp.

Regardless, whether you’re a company or a country, finding great leaders and putting them in the right position is priority number one if you want to be successful. Here’s to hoping all of us find (found) a few more in the near term.
