So, one of the funnier things at FlashForward 06 is how pissy conference attendees get when wireless access is not readily available or reliable. There are things we’ll tolerate, and then there are things we won’t….

The policy this year is to intentionally provide no wireless in the seminar rooms, under the same theory as forbidding mobile phones: stop blogging for a while and listen to the speaker! :-) But that wasn’t made clear so people think it’s broken. Maybe it’s unrealistic to expect people to detach from the virtual umbilicus; I suspect feedback will motivate us to supply it at the next event.

i’ve never understood why anyone would need wireless internet access while listening to a speaker… multitasking addicts detract from the experience
